The Joanna Briggs Foundation (JBF) was once again chosen as a beneficiary of the Advertiser Foundation’s fabulous Grease ‘the musical’ Luncheon held at the Festival Theatre, Adelaide, on 14 August.

Several of the main cast members of the musical performed their famous hits from the 80s Grease movie including Sandy, You’re the One that I Want and Beauty School Dropout. In addition to the Grease show, guests were also entertained by the talented Nathaniel Willemse, a finalist in the 2014 series of the X Factor Australia. Nathaniel performed his worldwide new hit, You’re Beautiful, and had the crowd on their feet.

The Luncheon proved to be a resounding success with the 360 guests enjoying the entertainment, great food and fine wine. The JBF hosted 30 guests, including JBI staff and JBF Advisory Committee members and supporters.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Adelaide Family Health Study, to be jointly undertaken by a team of medical researchers from the University of Adelaide, the Robinson Research Institute, JBI, the Women’s and Children’s Research Alliance and and other academic, government and hospital partners. This study represents a major new initiative and is anticipated to improve the health and quality of life for all South Australians.
